Hi I’m Pearl Ivy, I’m a 24-year-old London-based graphic designer, illustrator and artist. From a young age I have always had a love and passion for art. I loved that I was able to express myself and there were no limitations or wrong or right answers.
The Pop Art movement has had a major impact in my work, as I love bold abstract colours, pop culture and people. My favourite artists and who have inspired me are Andy Warhol and Roy Lichtenstein.
My signature style
One of my most frequently asked questions is “What are the black and white lines”. The black and white lines, which I call highlights are to highlight the areas of the figures face and body. I created the style with no intentions, I first used the style in my illustration series called #BeyondTheGirl, which featured all my favourite girl bands I listened to growing up in the 90s/00s TLC and Spice Girls to name a few. I continued to incorporate the style and it has now become my distinctive feature in my work.
